Joe Petrina’s lifelong dream was to own his own small business.
Joe’s father owned an east Portland meat market, where Joe honed his entrepreneurial skills. His interest in carpentry grew during his time at the University of Oregon and Portland State University.
He began working as a carpenter in 1974, building small decks and fences. Just three years later, at the age of 23, he founded his own company and expanded all areas of the home, including kitchens, bathrooms, new homes, and additions. A one-man show, Joe grew skilled at framing, cabinetry work, and finishing. Perhaps more importantly, Joe discovered his innate talent for helping home owners achieve their dreams.
Over its 40+ year history, Petrina Construction has grown into a thriving small business with eight field employees and two office staff. Now run by father and son Joe & David Petrina, we continue to build and renovate homes in the wider Portland area. Our goals are to always exceed the highest industry standards in safety and quality, to maintain our strong Oregonian ethics and values, and to offer our community financial and volunteer support.
